Default Ace 250 in the water

So how many of you Ace250 users have tired the ace in water? I know it has been mentioned before about how poorly the ace is around wet sand and salt water, but was wondering if anyone has tried just fresh water. I went to our beach today and went in the water....not real deep...but wanted to see if I could find anything. Got a few beeps, but not solid ones...and then the rain came, so only detected for 10 mins.
Any input or ideas appreciated

Indy, I would think that fresh water wouldn't affect the Ace at all like saltwater would. Although I never have tried using mine in water. I am sure others here would be able to give some great input on this as well.

I've used the Ace in very shallow water(Lake MI) and found a few coins. Worked just like on land - very few beach finds

Indy I used mine after a big rain and the field had 2 to 3 inches of water on it and it worked fine. I think it actually worked better that when the field was dry. It was a pain straping it to my back when I went down to retrieve something . Oh and don't go with flip flops. LOL

I used mine several times in the creek. All I found was a few cans but it definitely worked fine. I sat it up on the side one day though and it promptly rolled into the water. It went beeeeeeeep and then nothing. I cried. But then it finally dried out and it is okay now. Just be careful that it is in a safe place when not scanning. Good luck and Happy hunting.
