Pinpointing with the Sniper is easier as the coil itself is a solid, one piece unit (no holes through it like the 6x9 stock coil), and it's only 4.5 inches in diameter. You pinpoint the same way as with the stock, but unlike it, the Sniper pinpoints on the DEAD CENTER of the coil. There is even a small 'X' in the top center which "marks the spot". It's truly reliable every time on that exact spot.

I've only had mine for a little while and still need to practice more with it.
I think my problem has been not SLOWING DOWN, as recommended. From what I've read here, that sounds key to any success with it.

Default With any detector

The key to sucess is to slow down. even more expensive machine can miss a target if you get in a hurry.

Slow down...
take yer time...

i catch myself sweeping way to fast at times. when i slow down and concentrate on proper technique my finds get better in quantity and quality.

I seem to be improving with this thing. Spent 45 minutes in a local park on Saturday before I was driven out by rain, and dug up one bottle top and 7 memorial cents.

Pinpointing, as has been noted here, DOES work well once you know where the pinpoint "point" is. My holes are getting much smaller, and I'm saving a lot of time digging and sifting through dirt.

Good to hear the success story, Brian !!! Glad to hear the holes are getting smaller and smaller, not that I didn't dig some MONSTER holes in the beginning .................

It gets easier and easier with every item you dig !!! I can pop a pull tab in no time now .............. not sure that is a good thing ............LOL
