Default Finally ordered a new detector

After reading so many reviews on the Ace 250 I decided to order one from KellyCo. I only purchased the basic detector which also came with an accessory package which I thought was out of this world and also ordered a sand scoop. We are planning a trip to Myrtle Beach from the 25th-29th and I am really excited about it. My two children are not as excited at the moment, lol. I have detectors for them both to use so I hope they find something. I will be passing my Bounty Hunter (excellent first detector for myself) on to my son.

I need as much advice as possible from those who have these detectors. I am also wanting to find out what accessories I will need to make my finding more successful. Here is a copy and paste from Pappy that I thought sounded like some good accessories. (hope ya don't mind Pappy that I am using this from another post)

(post from Pappy to someone else) Here is what I think is the perfect COMBO for the ACE250:
ACE250,Sniper Coil,Scuff Cover,Waterproof cover for the 250, Lesche Digging Tool and the Vibra Probe560, 3" Nylon adjustable Belt for the Digger and Probe...This combination can't be beat!

Anymore advice is appreciated!

I second the sniper coil... I've heard people who say they can't live without it! But advice from Pappy can't be beat... sounds like he covered all the bases to me!

So far I've found one very old license plate, a lot of nails, some funky green pennies and other misc. change.. but who's counting? I'm just here to have fun, giggle, and make friends along the way!

The very first thing you need to make sure you have before you lower the coil to the ground is a coil cover. No matter what! :grinningelf:

Make sure you have some nice gloves so you don't get cut. You never know what you'll be finding.

A nice utility belt for all your finds. Make sure you can carry something to put trash into.

If you have the extra money, the Sniper Coil works VERY well in a trashy area, and the Vibra Probe 560 (570 at this point, since it's the newest one) can't be beat.

For diggin' in earth, make sure you have a gardening knife type trowel so you can cut through roots and really get past the grass. I've tried regular trowels and I wouldn't ever go back. I use the Fiskar's type Garden Knife. I got it at Wal-Mart for about $10.

Make sure you remember that the sensitivity will be the key at the beach. If the sens is set too high, the Ace250 will sound like Vegas. Just turn it down until it stops jumpin' around.

Good Luck!
Pris

Congrats on the Ace! That is a very nice unit from what I hear.

Only other Item I could add to Pris's list is a scoop for the beach. Since this is where you will be using the Ace 1st. No need to spend big bucks either. Good luck at the beach, Beale.

You made a good choice. I have never touched a metal detector until I purchased my 250 earlier this month. It is very easy to use and sometimes it is a little too good. I found a staple from a staple gun in my back yard! I am considering getting a sniper coil but I want to get used to the standard coil first. I will be watching this thread with much interest also.

Congrats on the Ace. I think you will do well with it. A scoop is good also. I also use a belt to hold my detector box. It makes it lighter. And for all the finds, I have a bag that is on a belt. I told "E" that it was a purse in another life. It's now a man purse....Good luck....Buster....

Congrats on the new machine, I truly don't know much about the Ace 250 but I am sure you will love it. One more tool you will need is A DIGITAL CAMERA.:grinningelf:
