Question Sniper coil vs stock coil

I just ordered a sniper coil for my Ace 250 and I have a few questions about the differences between the coil that came with my detector and the sipercoil. Do I need to hunt in a different search mode? I hunt in Jewelry mode all the time and that seems to work for everything I do. Do I change the way I sweep and my search patterns? Do I need to change the settings? I am using the factory settings and having no trouble with those settings. Thanks for any help you guys can provide. Getting started in this was awesome and this web site is just icing on the cake.

The only difference I saw was the area you cover. It's smaller so you have to slow down, and take your time. You will see a big difference in the bell tone. It won't false signal nearly as much. And you will pick up good finds in the trashy areas. And I can't tell any difference on the depth either. Good luck.

Default Sniper Coil

When I got my SNIPER coil....After using it for several days...I sold my original coil that came with the ACE250 and have used nothing but the SNIPER. You cover less ground...BUT....You find more especially in trashy areas.
You can hunt in any mode with the Sniper Coil also. I see no difference in its depth perception at all.

I just bought me a Sniper Coil tonight. Oh I can't wait to get it in. I like the stock coil, but I hunt trashy area's often and get all kinds of crazy readings. I read everyone's postings about the sniper and I had to get me one.

I recieved my Sniper coil today. Oh man it is nice. It is smaller than i was expecting. I haven't had a chance to detect with it, but I love the solid feel it gives the detector. We shall see this afternoon if the rain holds out.

zaxfire69...im interested to see how you do with it. i recently bought the ace and have the stock coil. it works great and everything but it would be nice to be able to get a better signal out of trashy areas. i noticed the stock one has a hard time with those places. good luck with it!

Ok went out in the backyard for about 15 minutes. I love this coil. It is very accurate. If you hit a target and pinpoint it, you dig a round plug as big as the coil, which isn't big you will find your hit. I thought my backyard was hunted out , but I dug a 1968 penny. I played with it pinpointing is a snap. No doubt my stock coil will not go back on unless I am hunting a field that requires me to cover alot of ground.

Tried my new coil yesterday and found it seems to identify better. If it says a quarter 90% of the time it will be a quarter and if it says its a dime probably 70% of the time it will be a dime.Pennies and nickels its still a guess on those or junk! This park Im hunting in is full of coins and Corona caps, but ya gotta do the work.
