Default ACE 9x12" Rhino PROformance Coil question

Has anyone bought/used this coil (9x12" Rhino PROformance Coil)...? I have the standard coil and the sniper also, but have been wondering how this larger coil has performed. The reason I ask is that there are plenty of open areas where I live, and I'm wondering if it is worth the investment. Are there any other coils that work with our beloved ACE 250...? Thanks for any info...

Rick

Cool Wow! No answers!

i am surprised nobody has answered you. I am also interested in a larger coil for some serious relic and cashe hunting.

Welcome to TQ...I hear ya. I only know of one person who has posted on this site of using the larger coil...but as far as cache hunting goes, I hit a nickel signal this past weekend at around 4"...ended up diggin' 37 nickels out of one hole...my first modern day cache...!

i would like to hear someone who may have used it to. I have the standard an sniper as well. Might as well get the big coil to. I have a lot of trashy areas where I detect, but it would be nice I am sure for open field huntings meaning you could cover a lot more area with the coil. Let us know folks if you have one.

Just saw the thread, sorry I missed it before somehow. I'm a beach hunter and the bigger coil is the best way to go. In trashy areas it'll really get in your way because it'll report the highest conductive target it covers in the 9X12 area.
As far as falseing and pinpointing...it's exactly the same as the stock or sniper coil but depth and area coverage, wow, be ready to dig deeper than your used to.
Only thing that does take some getting used to is the weight, the first hour or so I didn't notice the difference but after that you'll notice, until you get accustom to it.
Bottom line I really like mine.

Default Larger coil

I use both the stock coil and the larger one. When I am working soccer fields the larger coil works well. I can cover more ground with it. but in trashy areas it sounds like a pinball machine. For relic hunting it can go deep. But like I said. It picks up all the trash in the area. Good luck with your decision.

I use "big bertha" on the beach and volleyball courts to cover more area quicker. Any fields that don't seem to be too trashy I'll use it on, but mostly I go over with the sniper and standard to weed out the junk, and save the big guy for last Not sure how much depth you'll gain using the bigger one, I still usually go no deeper than 8'' which-ever coil I use.

Default I love mine!

I got the Ace 250 two weeks ago and one of the batteries in it had leaked. I cleaned up the spring contact and it worked fine. I told Kellyco about it and they offered me a good discount for my trouble. I chose to get the 9x12 at a great price and since I have used it I have found a silver tablespoon circa 1937, my wedding band I lost at deer camp 3 years ago, a lot of change, and some other odd items. The only difference I see in the two coils is the bigger one shows a coin at 1 or 2" inches to be at 6". I don't know why it does that but I am learning it better every time out. The normal coil seems to be better at the depth game.... Any comments or tips welcomed!

I'm currently using the 9X12 coil after my other one died. I really don't like it as much and have not been finding nearly as much. And what I have been finding doesn't seem to be any deeper than before. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

What do you guys usually have the sensitively set at when using the 9X12? I've been having to turn it way down or it seems as though every swing produce a beep.
