holy smokes, so I should be digging all those solid nickel tones eh? darnit!

If you get a nickel sound, then switch to jewelry and scan it again, would it have read as gold? just curious if I can weed out some of these pull tabs and pop cans this way with my ace 250.

Hi,
The ring showed as a solid nickel, with a nice long tone. The pulltabs seen to have a shorter tone, but if your looking for gold, 14k rings up at the nickel, 18k at a penny and 21 to 24k at a dime. After finding that ring I've been digging everything in that range.

Last night I passed on a signal that was going from 50 cents to a dollar. I yelled over to my son, also armed with a 250, "Hey heres a pop can if you want it" I walked away and he dug up a beautiful silver ring. He says it rang up as a dime, but his sensitivity was set at 3 where as mine was maxed. The ring was only an inch down.

Hope this helps!

John

I dug a silver today that showed as a nickel both in the ground and after I got it home. Pop tops do usually have a dirty harsh sound but the pull tabs....they get me allot.
