Default Ace 250

Hello everyone, I just found this site and I'm blown away. Very nice! Well I made the jump up to an ACE 250 and well lets just say I'm still unsure about this MD. It seems to like pennies real well. on my work bench it showed everything correct but in use well lets just say I'm still trying to figure out what its telling me. I have read one post that said to take the coil up and down over my target, and if the I.D. stays the same than its more that likely correct? will this help or do I just need more time with my first I.D. machine? Thanks. Dirtynails.

Well yesterday was my first day out, well out of my own yard that is. I found thirty coins, all clad, two casting weights, and one matchbox car. I think I'm going to like this machine, still trying to get used to what its telling me. I'm not used to looking at the screen for info. Need more time, could someone call my boss and tell him I need a few more days off well more later I hope. Jim

Hi all. I am new to all of this and ready to buy my first MD. I was leaning towards a quick draw 2. I like the 5 year warranty. Then I started to look at the 250. Seems to have a tad more than the quick draw but only 2 years of warranty. How is Garrett's service? I like the waterproof coil and the pin point feature on the 250. I need to order something this week before I spend the money on something else. Best price I've seen is $212.00 to my door with a few things like headphones and bag. I really wanted to stay under $200 but I can squeeze out a little more. Thanks from the middle of the Buckeye State. Oh yea and GO BUCKS!!!!

I have owned the ACE 250 and it is a cut above the any of the comparable Bounty Hunters. The function, fit, and finish is second to none. I sold mine because it was a little too sensitive to mineralization in my area. I think it is a great detector for a newcomer and it will be a while before you outgrow it. I have a low end BH Fast Tracker and although it discriminates very good the depth is not there and it looks like a toy.

Default Go for the Ace

Howdy Curbsweeper,
Get the Ace you will not be sorry. My son and I got into detecting about a year ago. He got the BH and I chose the ACE. The ACE is a lot nicer detector in my opinion. My son now wishes he would have gotten one too. Mine paid for its self in finds this last summer. I also bought the Sniper coil a little later, you might want to do this later too. It makes a whole new detector, especially in trashy areas. The ACE is easy to learn but has a lot of the features higher priced detectors have. Check out Indy's video in the video section, she is hunting with the ACE. Go for one, it worked good enough to get me hooked on the hobby.
