Thumbs up ACE 250 User!

Love this MD. Very easy to learn. Accurate. And it is not expensive.
Have questions? Let me know!

Sincerely,
Kim

Hi Kim,

I read your post of your first finds and it appears you did really well for the first time out with the 250. Glad you like it. I suggested the 250 to a friend of mine who is new to the hobby and I certainly hope he does as well with his. He should receive it this week and he is very anxious to give it a swing. I still use the Garrett GTA 500 and enjoy it alot. Well, you keep us all posted on how well you're doing and I'll let everyone know how my friend does.

Default Ace 250

Hi All,
My friend (Jim) received his new 250 and stopped by to show it to me. I checked it out, but not on a hunt due to rain which is another whole story. I very much liked the way it felt and it sure is light. He said he ran outside at his house in between rain showers and quickly hit on a quarter and he said the ID was right on the money. Also he said he needs to work on his pinpointing. Weather should be better by the weekend so I hope Jim and I can get out and put the new 250 to the test. By the way, the quarter he found was an 81'....no silver.

Post Ace 250

I am waiting on my ACE 250 to get here in the mail. I would like to know if there is anything special I can do to learn the quirks this detector has, such as air tuning and coin gardens.. Anyone with some experience let me know how this MD has done for them, I am moving on from my Pioneer 101 A.K.A "Pull Tab" finder. Thanks in advance!

Default Its Here!!

After the initial test run of this machine, I have decided it will be my premier MD to use. My BH 101 wont detect the screw in my ankle, but the ACE 250 did on the first sweep and even classified the type of metal. Way to go Garrett!

Default Garrett's are easy to use

From the land of the Bluenose....they are great machines and have been swinging them for over 30 years. Have gotten lighter over this time and a tad more durable. Glad to hear you are having great success with yours! Running a 17 year old Freedom 3 CDC that was recently upgraded (after i fell off a cliff with it) to a Freedom 3 plus........got to love this hobby and Mary P at Garrett! Happy hunting.

Default Interesting.....

I found that while swinging this machine it will ping on your proposed target....like lets say for example a dime hits on the LCD. When you "pin point" where it is try bouncing the MD up and down directly over your target. If it gives you the same signal over and over....more than likely its what it says it is. If not its junk. I spent 6 hours today testing this method and it is more than 90% accurate for my soil type. "Hard, dry, and mineralized" I hope this helps out with some of your issues you might have.
