Welcome: The only way you could do better is to have got the GTI 2500.
You will be impressed with the 1500 though.

I have used the 1500 for a little over 2 years now. Overall, I am pleased with most if its performances. My best friend bought the 2500 about a month after I bought the 1500. We went together with mine and both learned how to use it. He decided to do the upgrade. We switch off now and then and have both used each of them. Besides the 2500 being heavier, neither of us have noticed much difference between them. We've found about 8,000 coins (combined) over the last 2 years, but we spend probably 75-80% of our time hunting old places such as homes, fairgrounds, etc. Neither of us have noticed much difference in depth, pinpointing, target ID accuracy, or overall performance at all. They seem to be about the same.

I realize that the 2500 has a few extra features, but justing letting you know that we haven't noticed much of a difference and we hunt together a few times a week.

hi all i do find i struggle sometimes with the 1500 . today i finnally managed to get on a beach and went on wet sand with the salt elimination alas the only things i found were cans or the odd weight,my problem is the imaging many times i had a signal and the machine says its least 12 inches down and its big ok it could be but similar readings in the field put me off digging to find out for example, i set it up in a field threshold just so i can hear it (bout 3) and sense about 7 i hit a good signal sometimes and it could say coin size 6 inches down (this is swept both ways and diff directions) i then remove the turf and the signal then changes from a good signal (5 or higher) to a bad siganl bout 2 or 3. that really bugs me. i can see how a bad signal would turn into a good signal but not a good signal turning into a bad one dont get me wrong i love this machine to bits but i think it gives to much info sometimes with the imaging now i try to ignore the size and watch depth more than anything as constant depth usually means somethings there anyway thx for the replys keep having fun
