Red face Belltone Garrett GTI 1500

Hi Everyone: I have a question. I am not real new to this hobby but I am certainly learning VERY slowly! I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. I have noticed that when I keep the SENS turned up on my GTI 1500 everytime I hit a single blade of high grass or a lone weed the bell tone will ring like I've got a good hit. Anyone else have that problem. Perhaps I am trying to keep the SENS too high? I have it set around 9. Thanks

If you hear a lot of beeps and bell tones with every little movement, chances are you've set the sensitivity too high. Better to start low say at 6.5 and keep bumping it up a notch or two until you find the point just below the level where the bells are real frequent. Also, the older white coil is prone to sound off more frequently when it comes in contact with objects due to its foam core construction. The newer black resin coated coil is a lot more stable and lets you keep running at a higher sensitivity. Hope that helps!

Welcome to the site LongLost1! Glad you dropped in. I am not sure on the 1500, but you may want to bump the sens down? Good luck, and look foward to reading your finds, Beale.
