Default MD on the Beach - What's Happening?

Today was my first day detecting on the beach.

I know my detector is not a "beach machine" but I thought that it was strange that anytime I go near where the tide comes in at night my detector goes off like Davey Jones' treasure it buried everywhere.

When I head back to the dry part of the same I can hunt with no problem.

I typically will be hunting on dry land (until I move to a beach community) are the false signals due to mineralization from the water, or just the conductivity of wet sand?

From the land of the Bluenose.....some machines just can't dig in the mineralized wet sand. hae that problem with my Freedom # so when the odd tiume I do a beach hae to use the water machine. Check your manual and maybe it can be notched out to balance for that! Good luck.
