I am planning a trip to Germany in September. Does anyone have any first hand experience on getting equipement through airline security to Europe?

according to what i read on another forum,even if you break it down,,the airlines will not let you carry it on,,it has to go in stowed crago,,which concerns me,,have you seen the way those guys handle bagage,,and the last thing you want to do is put a big sticker on it saying fragile,,your just asking for it ,,the problem is that theres no accountablity to the airlines for missing or broken equipment,,good luck metal head,,if you have friends
where your flying to,,you might want to pack it yourself and mail it before

personnaly i dont fly,,i hate to fly
