Went into my own yard. First time, still learning the detector. I spent about 2 hours working the area around the house. I quickly learned that there a lot of roofing nails in the yard. I discriminated some of there noise out, at least enough so I could tell them from a coin.
One thing. How does a 7 year old penny get itself buried 4 inches down in soil that hasn't been turned in decades.... Found lots of modern pennies. I think one steel penny, it's very rough and a church key buried 7" down. With the rust bloom around it, it really sounded off!!! All in all not really fruitful but it was fun! Oh, having a pin pointer really helped a lot!! I picked up a Tiny Tech(on clearance). It does a nice job. Last edited by Jeff G; 04-11-2007 at 03:27 PM. Reason: forgot something |
