Default cleaning coins

What is the best way to clean coins? I mean just regular pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters? Most the coins I have are a bit dirty but no big deal. Someone told me tarn x was good. Something to make them shiny and not ruin them. Something light then if there are some that will not work with the light cession then maybe something something more intense. Thanks in advance.

Default damn boobie

than you so much for all the advice. Its like everytime I have a question you are always there to answer it to the point. I really appreciate that. Only problem with those coin machines is that they take 8 percent of your profits. I do not know how it is over there but that's how those machines work in Florida. I do not have a tumbler but I will try the soap and toothbrush. Thanks.

Boobie, is there something special in the makeup of olive oil that makes it the oil of choice? It's not unusual for me to have 35-70 lbs of olive oil around here for soaping so I was curious about the coin cleaning. I know a lot of folks use it for cleaning their face instead of cleanser.

I make soap, another hobby that is addictive. You wouldn't believe all the oil I have here! Emu oil, buffalo tallow, deer tallow are some of the more exotic ones but I keep olive oil on hand all the time.

I think I'll find something grungy and drop it in some OO and watch it for a while. Like I keep saying, you're a fount of knowledge boobie!

Just a little advice on the olive oil.

Depending on the situation, the olive oil can turn several colors during soaking.
Esp. if soaking for a long time.
Green and dark green are okay.
But if it should start turing blue, time to change.
Even a real dark green would be a good time to change.
It can have an adverse effect on the coin.

A good rinse after removing from the old oil with distilled water would be suggested.
