Talking The Wait Begins!

Today was a great day! I sent my money snail mail to Tony for the Tejon and am excited! I guess the question is what to do while I wait! I guess I will try to get to somebodys detector in the club that I just joined to get my fix! Is this how all newbies feel when getting their first?

Default Hi JhnBaker

Well if ya can't borrow a detector from someone then I say ease that Jones by doing research into places you can go swinging. Drive around looking for spots, Talk to some Old Timers in the area if you can, research your area at the library or on the internet. There are all kinds of ways to ease your pain that will help you find stuff for when your detector gets there. Good luck & HH.

Default I know the feeling.

I just got mine on Monday. During the agonizing wait, I joined forums, looked up clubs, hit the library and drove around looking for cool places. It will be there before you know it. Good luck.

Default Zman

That would be the contry Pulltabistan in a galaxy FAR,FAR AWAY! They have a great exchange rate - 3 Bottle Caps for 1 Pulltab and for every 100 pulltabs you exchange they give you a bonus can of Rusty Nails & Screws. Personally I would never go there as I here they have a BIG Fetish for Tin.

My very first MD (not counting the toy one I had when I was a child) will be getting here on Friday. So I am basically doing what gordiesgirl said. For right now I guess I am living through other people until mine gets here. oh and you could start making a list of all the places you want to go to with your new MD.

Default Waiting.......

Sounds like you need a back-up detector even if it is a very basic, non-discriminator! Of course, I have 28, 29, 30,...............(not sure of the exact number) backups!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course you can treasure hunt without a metal detector, look at the ground where you walk, use a treasure probe and/or use a sifter especially in an old dump area! Last resort only make friends with detector owners..........LOL..........Sorry but I haven't been detectorless in over 37 years so I have trouble relating.........Joe

Smile my new Md machine: a minelab X-terra 30

Got my new minelab x-terra 30 yesterday, but with all the things i had to get done, i did not get to but tinker with it(and of course read and reread the manual. it rained all day today, so didn't get to do any swinging today. i hope tomorrow will be a dry day(no rain) so i can do some swinging with my new machine.
"good hunting to all",... *Patrick*
