Default lots of junk

ive dug sheet rock and deck screws. scary thing is when i dig the chips i use only hands. no trowel or gloves. my tot lot protocol has been officialy changed to include puncture proof kevlar work gloves. my tot lot (wich yieled 73 coins for me today $2.12USD) is only 1 year old. and they just re chipped it with mulch last weekend. i never thought of junk like that being there. makes me wonder about dirty needles now

Bill, are the kevlar gloves bulky? Are those what they call mechanic's gloves? Would I find them at an auto parts store or someplace else? Too many questions? Think I can come up with more? (Of course I can! lol)

Yeah Bill I wear gloves everytime I go out now.No matter where I go.It keeps my hands clean and I don't have to worry about being cut by glass or metal anymore.I also worry about needles that drug addicts would toss.Detector probably wouldn't pick it??????Not sure.

A couple of months ago I was searching a playground at a local school. I had a solid hit and dug about two inches down and found a live rifle bullet! The end was decaying off and it looked very unstable. I gently removed it from the ground and deposited it in a metal trash container far away from the play area. I am not sure how dangerous this could have been if it had been stepped on the wrong way. I may have taken a risk in carrying it but I felt I was doing the right thing in getting it away from the children.

Went to a tot lot Sunday morning. It looked like some kids had been having some fun. Large rocks had been thrown around. In the woodchips the kids had scrawled "PENIS" in the chips. I guess they thought it was a cuss word!

Default Broken Glass

I hunt a lot of beach areas on land and in the shallow surf! I find a lot of sharp,, large pieces of broken glass! Each time I stop my detecting and head for the nearest trash can!! I never throw these back, of course I always dispose of all my trash and never re-litter. One, this is common sense and two, I never liked the idea of digging the same trash twice! Digging it once is bad enough!! Also I've found the broken necks of beer bottles, and knives with the blade out!!..............Be careful I've known hunters getting cut on such objects!!!.................Joe

Default Kevlar Gloves

Kevlar gloves are no where near as bulky as leather gloves. they are even more comfortable than a good set of garden gloves. I get mine from grainger supply. i dont know if lowes carries them or not. they are made with the same material bullet proof vest are made of. they are not puncture proof but they are very puncture resistant. and its even hard to cut em with a razor blade. i use them at work (i do maintenance at a national chain motel) when i replace carpeting because i dont want a needle or razor blade some junkie dropped to either cut me or stick me. they are a lil pricey but worth every penny in my book.
