Default Ace 250 Finds Question

I am curious how many of you Ace 250 (& 150) owners have found pre-1900 coins. I am familiar with a couple of 250 owners posts concerning their pre-1900 coins. Maybe one day I will be able to submit my pre-1900 coin find from the Ace 250 - have yet to find one.

I have a 150 but have not found anything that old but then again I have only been hunting like 2 weeks. But I have found enough to buy a pre 1900 coin.

I've not found any, yet, either. Then again, I live in Southern California. My area wasn't populated at the turn of the century. It was all overgrown. I'm sure we'll all find some at one point er other.

Default My wife found a pre 1900 Indian Head

My wife found a pre 1900 Indian Head Penny in Commerce when we lived there. It was a 1892 and she also found an 1873 Indian Head as well with her ACe 250. As far as Silver goes she did find a 1900 Morgan Dollar but gave it to the landowner. It was one she (the landowner) had lost when she was younger and asked my wife if she could possibly find it. It took Crystal (my wife) three hours to locate, but gave us a good place to hunt when we feel like it.

Now I have found several pre 1900 coins with my Garrett GTA 350. It is a cantankerous old machine that hits extra deep and is hard to pinpoint with but if it gives a signal, normally there is something there. I have noticed that the target ID on this machine is off sometimes but all in all, it is not too bad once you get use to it.

Still partial to my old Bounty Hunter II though. When using it there is a formula I use.. Dig everything.. mainly cause it is an old detector with a metal and mineral setting. Nothing else..

Hey FLD.......you are sounding discouraged....don't give up. It is possible to find pre- 1900's coins, with the Ace 250 , I have found a few. Most of them have been found at the old house I go to, that house has many treasures........my problem I have is , you take me away from that house I don't find much of anything. The Ace has to pass over those coins , before they can be found. If you could find an old, OLD house , that has had alot of foot traffic , to hunt....... that is where you need to go. OR you could take a road trip up here to Indiana, and I'll take you to that house
Stick with it, your will find the coins you are seeking.

I haven't found any pre-1900 coins with my Ace250 yet, but then the area I am hunting I don't expect to produce any pre-1900 coins as the parks aren't that old.

Now when I was hunting in the mid-70's with a cheap non-discriminating Whites, I found many IH's, buffalo's, mercs, 1 large cent and it was amazing how many of those coins were found just under the surface.....................

Hi Stephan, just hang in there and do a lot of research and you will be rewarded. Some old coins are deep and some aren't. I found a Standing Liberty quarter that was only 3 inches deep in a most unlikely place. Ok God Bless ya and happy hunting Stephen!
