Default where are the old coins located in Florida

My oldest coin was a penny from 1918 and I think it was a fluke because I searched around that same area and nothing. I guess I got to look around the old trees and search that area. was getting a good sign from this older tree and it took me a while to get to the quarter but unfortunately it was from the 60s. It's hard to get around and detect. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default old places to hunt.

St. Augustine Fla. was originaly thought to be the Oldest city in the United States. As it turns out its second to a settlement that was started on an Island all Marines love, Parris Island. Ok nough of the history lesson for today, If you are see'ing all these 1700s coins comming out of NY, Con and places like that, just think of the coins that could come out of Fla. not to mention all the ship wrecks that have happened off the coast. One of the great things I love about this hobby is doing my research.......Happy Hunting and good luck......Bill
