Default Careful with your Automax Precision V4!

Well, it happened. I snaped the probe off on my Automax Precision V4 . The wire leading to the coil did not break fortunately; not sure if the coil was pulled away from the tip at all. It still works, so I fit it together with super glue and went out MDing a few hours later. It worked fine, but I am a little worried about breaking it again. I will probably reinforce the probe with JB Weld so this thing can get me by until I get a Vibraprobe.

I guess the reason the Automax feels fragile is because it is! I must admit I may have gotten a bit forceful with it, but I doubt I would have had the same issue with a Vibraprobe.

Anyone ever snap a Vibraprobe?

Default boobieinPa, thanks for...

the great advice. I was thinking about doing that, I might have seen a post about that from you in the past?

It seems to be sensitive enough that the PVC should not deter it from it's primary use. It looks as though the probe may actually unscrew at a couple of places and has tiny washers for water tightness.

Did you use glue the cap in place on the end?

Thanks again and HH!

I have both and I would say the vibraprobe is a lot more sturdy. I do like the fact that you can adjust the automax.
