Default EMI: Hunting with others

I have read somewhere that Whites detectors are not EMI friendly. I assume that might apply to most. But I don't know.

I am planning to buy a couple of detectors. One for my wife and one for myself. Questions:

1) Will I run into interference issues if we both hunt in the same general area?

2) How far apart must we remain?

3) If this is an issue, is it for similar detectors or do any to interfere?

4) Is it true that Whites suffer from this?

Thanks,

I can't speak for the Whites but the other two guys I MD with and myself all use Garretts and we have no issues until our coils are like a foot or two apart.

Maybe some of the "PROS" here have better advice.

Default EMI and White's

My buddy and I hunt with White's. He uses an XLT and I have used either an MXT or a DFX and we have had ZERO problems even when we were very close. No problems with White's!

Default Group Hunt Friendly Detectors

All I have ever used were Garretts and Bounty Hunters and an old vintage D-Tex. Seems the Garretts cause interference with others when closer than two feet or so. Also, Garretts, for some reason, do not like power lines above.. That really makes them go nutty.

One of these days I will try out a Whites.. But till then, I'll have to keep swinging the above mentioned detectors.

USMC huh! I served in the Corps from July 1963 - July 1967.

BTW, got the DFX and love it. Practicing in my yard. Found a dime and penny in my yard. At this rate, it will only take me 24 years to pay for this.
