Default SO excited!!!

my mom's friend owns this very old house complete with a few barns on her large property. she said that i could go whenever i wanted and im really excited. after finding a book about my town's history, im even more excited based on what it said in the book:

..an old brick factory building in the midst of a group of farm buildings. It was here at this site that Anthony's Universal Baking Powder was manufactured and sold througout the US. Joshua anthony established the business in 1869 and in 1885 he received a 25 year contract to supply A&P markets with his baking powder....the building was a handsome 2 story frame building, 40 by 60 ft, equipped with up to date machinery.

the farm house was well furnished with everything necessary for comfort and convenience. it was heated with steam, and by 1894 it was lighted with electricity. it even had a private telegraph line running to his factory. The brick spicemills still stand today, evidence of a once burgeoning industry.

all this is on like 3 acres.

I'd be excited, too, grasshopper! That sounds like a perfect place to spend the summer-and probably winter, too.

Good Luck

I was thinking the same thing Dri was. If there are any old trees close to the back or side of the building (if you know where the building was) I would look there. That really sounds nice! Congrats on the find.
