Know before you go....
well, maybe. Came across this site that might be helpful for some folks to check out city and county laws prior to MDing or other stuff. The codes are searchable, use key words like detector, archeological. historic etc.
Not everyplace in the U.S. is listed, but there are quite a few places. http://www.municode.com/Resources/OnlineLibrary.asp
There may be other factors that trump whatever you find on this site, but you may get a definitive "No Way" prior to traveling. Or you may not want to visit this site, as ignorance is bliss, although I'm told it is no excuse in legal matters
