Default too dry, too hot

Whew--went out for short time on Sunday. Man was it HOT. The ground is so dry I think I am done for a while. Rock hard dirt, turns to powder if you can break it free. Grass won't live if you try and peel it back.

Maybe after we get some more rain and it greens back up...

Yes I decided not to even try to hunt grassy areas right now. I'm just sticking to the tot lots till we get a good rain. I NEVER thought I would pray for rain!

Swing and a miss. *beep* *beep* *beep* - severe thunderstorm warning over the TV. I did the same thing I did last time they called for severe storms - watered heavily. And just like last time - a trace of rain, already evaporated and the ground remains bone dry. Except for where I watered of course

Check the parks -- if any have irrigation, just try to plan around the watering time. It's dry as a bone here almost everywhere, but the parks are still pretty wet due to irrigation. The mountains here are also good, but it's hard to find a good place to hunt -- few places with enough trafic in the past to make hunting very rewarding.
