Default Has this ever happened to you?

I was talking with my cousin this evening about metal detecting, knowing he had done some in the past I was picking his brain on the subject when we started talking about "finds". Well it turns out his brother in law also does md'ing. So he starts telling me a story that happened maybe 15 years ago on the land right down the road. They(city) were preparing to build(dig) a dump and after they excavated a couple of feet of top soil the brother in law got permission to MD out there, well it seems he was finding bullets that numbered in the thousands perhaps, in fact so many that he was giving handfulls away to the heavy equipment operators for their kids.........anyhow, he ended up finding a bullet...in the skull of a soldier. So the state came in and dug the remains and gave the soldier a formal burial, the only thing left other than the skeleton was the bullet in the skull and some left on his belt, no buttons or buckles.....maybe the body acid ate away everything but the lead. So I was just curious if this had ever happened to any one else in here?
BTW I live just outside of Petersburg,Va. That would help to explain so many bullets.
I think I would want to avoid that find myself.

Me I'M JUST HAPPY TO FIND A FEW RINGS AND COINS....................and that is all! Don't need to find any GHOSTS!.............Joe

Hi, Perhaps This These Are Stupid Questions. But How Did They Know It Was A Soldier? How Come It Took So Many Bullets To Get One Person? Could It Of Been The Skull Of Jimmy Hoffa? Could It Of Been Al Capones Gang Doing A Massacre? Thanks

Default Now I'm sceeert to dig.

And just when I thought I found a nice risk-free hobby. Something I could feel secure in.
There in lies the danger of the sport! Maybe I should take up base jumping instead.

Default pets

I have seen and heard of finding animal graves in yards, dog collars and tags, you get the picture dont ya,guess when they buried them with no stones and years later a coil swings over lassie and bingo you hit his or hers tags ,chains, its the part of detecting that isnt fun but there are times like that if you hunt yards much you will soon hit something thats not so kool ,but thats dirt fishing folks....creek

The remains were dressed in a confederate uniform, the ammo belt was still around his waist, and as far as alot of bullets......they were the ones on his ammo belt.
