I went 11 inches to find 3 pieces of an old razor blade...boy....do I have alot to learn. I did get 35 cents from it all....learned alot from what little time I had. Sleeping on the coutch tonight....the wife not too happy of me digging up the yard...LOL!!!

I have dug up my yard so many times it looks like a mutant mole has gone berserk. If the Mrs. has you sleeping on the couch all I can say is "IT ONLY GETS WORSE"

Just kidding !!

My digging skills are pretty bad I start out with a nice neat hole but then I get a little overzealous and I have a sink hole when I am done. That is why my grandad only lets me hunt in the scrubby grass. We have sod in our yard so I had to agree to not "play" detector in the yard before my hubby would buy my 1st detector. All these silly people don't they ever watch Pirate movies you gotta dig huge holes to find the booty arrrgh.

Default A good excuse.

Tell the wife you are cultivating the yard for better growth and while your at it you are finding treasures. That might get you off the couch.

That's funny.

My wife is a real 'yard nut'. She mows it about 3 times a week, does all the fertilizer and weed killer thing, etc. etc.....

A few minutes after I got my Fisher, we were outside,
and I had it chirping away. I told her,
"Hey, I bet we got some real treasures out here,
I'm getting hits about every 2 feet".

Along with, "Oh no,,, you're not going to dig up the yard",
I got 'the look'.

What did she think the MD was for? hehe You poor guy. It will give you some good practice at diggin' plugs. It's an art and takes some practice, but I bet that you'll eventually be able to dig some really nice plugs that she won't be able to tell where you were diggin'.

You should have her help you research how to dig a plug, so you'll keep her in the loop AND have her understand that you won't be killin' the grass (if you do it the right way, that is).

Good luck at gettin' off that couch.

I'm working on it.
However; she's still not quite convinced that we have Pirate Gold in the front yard, or a Civil War payroll is buried in the back yard..

Oh yeah, we do have a couch- a real nice one too,
but I'm not allowed on it. LOL...
