Default Hunting Parking Meters

Hi folks...

Has anyone ever hunted easement with parking meters on them? Here in Austin (Tx) we have quite a few streets close to downtown with grass easement and parking meters, and I got a wild hair one day last summer and started hunting them, and I'll tell ya what - if you're in the mood for clad, you can't beat 'em!

In some places, I have actually had to put the machine down and just kinda probe around with my screwdriver to get to everything, there were so many signals... In one stretch of easement I found over 20 quarters, and on a couple of trips, I have even found silver jewelry and one 1911 Barber dime.

If you're bored and have these available, go for it - it really is a lot of fun. I think the most I've ever found, value-wise, was a little over $13 (that was for several hours, though...) and it will flat wear your @ss out!

I do every chance I get.....

My Lady gets embarassed if she drives by the park and see' me metal detecting the meters....

it is a little embarassing but many Quarters to be found...

your right as far as the number of hits...

I find myself running the Sunray Probe around the area cause it small and can work around the sides of the main Pole...

I hunted the old strips in our town many years ago. We had some areas that they had removed the meters but the grass strips remained. I did very well also. Alot of clad and some silver coins. These are great places to hunt. In my area I just asked the property owners if they minded. No one objected.
