I recently purchased a Uniprobe on eBay. It was advertised “NEW IN BOX” and that is the way it arrived. Unfortunately, it didn’t work when I pulled it out of the box. I contacted the seller and was directed to contact “Gary” at DetectorPro. I am old fashioned and expect people I spend $300 + with to take care of any problems I have with my purchase. I was not excited about having to deal with the manufacturer since I had not purchased from them and did not even know if my purchase was from a recognized vendor.
I called DetectorPro and Gary answered the phone. He could not have been more helpful (He is understandably not excited that his product is being sold that way on eBay). He walked me through checking to make sure the detector was indeed not working properly and had me ship it back to the factory. Since it was an unusual return he took an active roll in insuring that a new unit went out the same day they received the return. A little over a week after receiving the non functioning detector I have a new “WORKING” UniProbe to play with this weekend. I will leave everyone to form their own opinion about whether or not buying this type of equipment on eBay is a good idea. I just wanted to publicly thank Gary for outstanding service. He has my vote and I am sure I will have the opportunity to do business with him again. |

Buyer Beware on E- Bay.
I bought 2 Whites coils on E-bay and both had problems. There are a few legitimate dealers who sell on E-Bay but found many items to be from overpriced pawn dealers and folks who don't have clue and selling estate clearouts etc. Many detector items are way overpriced for their condition but had a few good deals from respected sellers. Gary at Detector Pro pulled you out of a bad deal and hats off to him Be careful on E Bay and be prepared for disappointment. Check the various classified forums and checkout feedback on sellers or use respected dealers on used items before E Bay in my opinion. HH Bill |
