So far it works very well on hard dry ground. I haven't had any trouble with it yet, and I do a lot of digging.
If I ever do run into ground that it will not cut through

I would just go home and wait for the rain.

I just bought a Lesche digging tool. Predators tools have the words "Digging Use Only". Mine doesn't have those words on it. Is there a difference in quality?

Default For Digging Use Only

the predator is design as a digging knife. it looks like a weapon. it is a dislclaimer for the company. also if you have one in a public park and some one complains to law enforcement that you are weilding a knife... just show the cops your "digging use only garden trowel.

good luck and happy huntin

Thank you Kent I have a Sampson shovel I got from Chuck and I love it. But, I like the stand on that one and that it is long.

BigBill...
What's the difference between that one and the standard Lesche digging tool that does not have those words on it?

One thing everyone should remember. If your retrieving targets in lawn areas where the ground is rock hard dry you may create many unsightly problems as a result of your hunting that area. The grass inside you plug may die leaving an unsightly brown spot and if dusty dry the shallow plugs may even be sucked up and pulverized by the mowers leaving a complete void in the lawn.
Once getting permission to hunt a private site be very careful not to aggravate the owner and have respect and courtesy for fellow detectorists at public sites by not creating eyesores that may result in laws regulating access to detectors.

Why not hunt woods, mulched and sand areas, beaches etc, or just take a break till the rains soften up the soil. It's our hobby and must use common sense to preserve it and hunt to your hearts content at the right spots. Just a few thoughts from someone who notices the problems. HH Bill
