Default Where are the Old Coins Hiding?

I've been hitting some pretty old parks lately and area's that have been Frequented quite a bit...For Many many Years....

But still cannot find the Silver, or Merc's ...

I do find clad at 5,6-7" but no silvers or Merc's...

It's not like there is some kind of Quicksand here in Pittsburgh..

Is it possible that a Giant Vacuum Cleaner hit these parks already?

I have spoken to people in there 90's that have lived here all there lives and they have told me where they used to play when they were kids..

But I'll be damned I still cannot find the real good Oldies....

This has been a Multiple state Journey for me....

From Florida, Nevada, Colorado, Minnesota, Pittsburgh..

What Gives !!!!!!!!

Some places I am convinced that the ground is hungry and it eats wheats and silver.

All of the silver coins I have found came from home sites. I have a park that is 200+ years old and has yet to give up silver, but the sidewalk across the street (in front of an old house) gave me another merc today. Just my 2 cents worth.

It may sound silly but many times it's a matter of unmasking relatively shallow targets obstructed by trash and using the right detector and coil combination along with someone willing to dig the IFFY's to produce good finds. Sometimes it's ultimate depth that is needed in areas with low modern trash but have some iron contamination to deal with and you may need different detector and coil combination to achieve you goals.

I hunted a certain park for 2 years and rarely made older finds and now with a detector that fits my needs and the proper frame of mind i can't wait to hunt the park due to all the goodies uncovered and it's a small park but tricky to hunt.

It's not just having a detector with a coil but having the right detector and coil combination to do the intended job for any site. And just my thoughts. HH Bill
