Default Volleyball courts?

I'm new to MDing. I went out and check about 5 different volleyball courts thinking hey a ring or something might fly off when someone is spiking or digging (Not that our kind ). But I have yet to find anything really. Just a coin few and far between. Is this normal or just my bad choice of spots?

Volleyball courts are hits or misses for me, mostly misses. My rule of thumb seems to be if a nearby tot lot has a decent clad take, then the volleyball court has a chance to yield something. Only found rings at one location, a few silver, the rest junk. There's about 4 or 5 I tried that yielded less than $1.00 total. Location, location, location!

Any location where people gather and are active is a good spot to at least try. Remember to try all around the playing area since alot of people gather and sit to watch these events. It could be possible either someone already detected there or the age of the play area is not that old. Look in your area for old parks and schools. They usually produce better results.
