Default My Favorite Treasure Hunt Movie Of All Time:

................is SAHARA starring Mathew McConaughey. He is an Adventurer on a Quest to find the Legendary CSS Ironclad Texas. Although this tale is fictional, it has traces of historical fact! The Confederary did build a few ironclads and the CSS Texas was still under construction at the time of the collapse of the Confederacy! Also part of the story told of the Confederacy Gold hidden or taken away so it could be used for the UPRISING OF THE CONFEDERACY at a future date! Also it told of a Confederate $50.00 gold piece which is considered by some to a be a mystery of the Confederacy!?? Most accounts say none were produced but some believe that a lot were made in secret and stashed away.................................anywho it is a GREAT MOVIE and one will not be disappointed in watching it!!........................HH.............Joe

Post Movies & books

I think that movie was based on the book Sahara by Clive Cussler. When I read your post the title and plot sounded familiar. The book is a good read along with other Clive Cussler adventure books, he does a good job of weaving fiction with fact to make an interesting story.

I would love to see more Cussler/Dirk Pitt books made into movies.
They are all pretty good reads, especially the older ones.
I can't say I pictured McConaughey and Zahn as Pitt and Giordino when I read the books, but they did okay.

I wasn't sure where to put this so I found a thread already on movies and thought I'd add to it.

Default Sounds Interesting

I'll have to check it out. Nothing like fiction with a little fact in there to make you wonder. Thanks for Sharing that.
