My opinion of a PRO

It shouldn't reflect on the finds a person has made, or on how long a Detectionest has been hunting.

This is how I would determine who is a pro.

How much a person helps others in learning about the hobby in a pleasant manner.

The manner in which one presents himself to the general public.

Does he cover up his holes?

Do you help newbies when they have a problem & perhaps take them out on a hunt so they can learn firsthand.

Does he or she leave the site in better shape than when they got there.

Does the person return sentimental articles that can be returned to the original owner.

Have you volunteered you services to the local law enforcement personnel.

Have you discussed your hobby with the local preacher and offered to assist anyone in the congregation that might need your assistance to locate something they have lost in the past.

Do you sneak onto someones property or do you ask for permission first.

Respect all others opinions / suggestions / and ideas, even if you don't agree with them.

If a person would consider some or all of these comments, in my opinion that will make you a PRO in the hobby and in your life in general.

This certainly isn't a complete list but should be a beginning for us all to consider in becoming a detecting Pro.

Very well said my friend. Thats what it is all about. i have known other detectorist that wont even tell about their finds. i even know a few "poachers" here in my area. i am hoping that they would think me a PRO after our paths across. thanks brothehr bob for shining a light on this subject.

From the 1st days i was here , i knew boobiein was a pro, never a doubt
