Default Metal detecting and the books

I have found since the beginning that I enjoy the books as much as metal detecting itself.
I'm constantly buying books on anything related to metal detecting, lost treasure, history esp. texas history, pirates and anything related.

Books are everywhere.

The books by Thomas P. Terry were the first I bought after buying my first detector.
Still have the 4 I bought and am considering buying the rest of the series. Since, if I'm correct, they are out of print. Might just by the whole set. I know the whole series is being listed here by Free2Dtect . BTW. Great job doing that. It's alot of work. It's appreciated.
But I do like having the book in hand.

Then looking up the locations on google earth and also using mapquest.

Anybody else enjoy the books as much as I do?

Let me know.

Doug

The more you can read up on the better you are to find things and just learning the History and Stories about stuff is Great. I get a couple different Treasure magazines and Gold Prospectors Magazine & Mining Rights book For being a GPAA Member. Hopefully one day I'll get to go on one of their doings. The Books & Magazines are Priceless for the Info they Have. They get a good going thru during the Winter months .

Good Luck, Good Reading & HH.

I have got stacks of books, interesting just to look through but a must for a detectorist, you never no when that special thing might pop out of the ground and if you've got the books research can start stright away.
They take up a lot of room, but I wouldn't be without them.
