Thumbs up Now a life member, down 60#s

I had joined weight watchers in October 2005. I recently reached my goal and am now a lifetime member.
My Doc said if I did not lose the fat I would become a medication/insulin taker and after trying many of the fads I jioned W.W.
I have lost 60 pounds. the belly has almost disappeared, the knees do not hurt and the back pain has lessoned to a point where I almost never worry about it.. Best of all my BP has dropped a heck of a lot (this was noticed within a few weeks of being into the program). Now I can reenter the competition hunts and I don't have to kneel to dig . I can just bend over to do it. I can now detect all day, up & down hills and walk I try to 4 miles almost every day. I can now out walk and out hill climb some other hunting buddies 20 - 25 years younger than I am.

I wonder if any of the other TQ members are trying to get in shape. It really helps when detecting. Let us know how & what you are doing or did to get back into good detecting shape.

Harry(PA)

Congrats on the weight loss!! WTG!!

Last year I lost 140# & have never felt better in my life.
You'll find it harder to keep it off than it was to lose it. If you can, get a bicycle. Its great low impact exercise, and I find it more enjoyable than walking.

Congratulations on reaching your goal! It's amazing how much we actually physically exert our bodies while MDing...and it's the only passtime that can allow you to exercize AND have the possibility of paying you in gold! Best of luck and happy hunting!

Congrats!!! I've found that detecting really helps me lose weight. It is great exercise. I started WW last year with a goal of 20 lbs. I met the goal but unfortunately had to stop going to meetings when my DH was ill. Now I'm trying to get another 20 off.....

Default Congratulations

on reaching your Goal! I've dropped 15lbs in the last 2 months. Don't belong to any programs, just cut out alot of junk & not eating after 7PM and of course trying to get out detecting as much as I can. Will keep working at it and my big thing now is trying to kick these stinky sticks. Glad your feeling so much bettter and can enjoy our hobby even more.

Good Luck & HH.

Congratz on the life time member. I joined last Sept and lost 21 lbs so far.. I have a long way to go to get to my goal. I figured it took a long time to get to this point in my life. It is going to take a while to loose it all. Harry you've given me inspiration on working harder to achive my goal. Thanks Doug
