OBX hunting

I'm going down in October. I remember boobie saying that he had to stop detecting when he was down there, is detecting illegal everywhere on the banks?? I think it may all be a federal coastline, maybe I should leave the Ace at home.......

This link has been posted before and purportedly lists the beaches that you can and can't hunt. I guess it depends on what part of the Banks you are staying:

Beach Detecting Allowed:
Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, Southern Shores, Duck, Corolla North to VA. Stateline

Detecting Not Allowed:
North of Oregon Inlet to Nags Head line, Hatteras Island, OcracokeIsland

I would bring the MD regardless.
