Default My First Token

Went this morning for a short hunt, I found a cool bus token

The inscription reads: M and B Transit Lines on one side

Good for One Fare on the other

So far I have dated it to 1946. I was hoping it was a wheat. In some ways this is cooler, Beale.

I forgot to mention that the token also says Burlington NC on it.

So this come from right here in my town. I actually found it in my wifes grandmothers yard. Heck it could have been hers, Beale.

Very Cool Find, more so than a wheatie.

Good Luck & HH.

Certain tokens are just as valuable (or more so) than a lot of collectible coins...I'd never be disappointed in finding a token (I know you're not either)! Nice Find!

I love tokens -- probably some of the most eclectic of finds. I'd be in heaven pulling them from the ground all day!

A token would be so much better then finding a wheatie, unfortunately I have never found a token. What does a token show/ring-up as on a detector?

It depends on the base metal. Most are of copper composition, so will show up very similar to an older penny. Some are alloys, though most composition tend to be like that of older coinage.

Congratulations Mr.Carter and tokens are much more interesting than the standard wheatie's. I was told there used to be a Saloon in Sweetwater,Tx where I work. They had a special token that they gave out to their customers and the fellow said they are very scarce. They do have some value. I work the downtown area of Sweetwater but haven't found one yet. Maybe someday. I will chat with you soon Mr.Carter.
