Be careful
I've made one of the electrolysis units that MTPockets posted the link to the other day, and as the website says "DO NOT LEAVE UNATTENDED" follow that rule! My adapter (12 volt) got really hot from doing this, although, I wasn't cleaning a coin, but a bottle opener.

Be prepared to burn out quite a few transformers but thats what Goodwill is for. :) For large iron Mauthe, use a car battery charger and carbon rod. I have a set up I can show you.
