Just got back. He's a friendly guy. Thin, average height pushing 80 he says. We talked for about 30 minutes. When we first got there we were greeted with a smile and a flour covered handshake. He was making some bread. Which reminds me I haven't made any of my grams recipe homemade bread in a while. Most of the house has been remodeled in the past 5 years with the exception of 2 rooms. 3 chimneys only one old one left 2 new chimneys replace the older ones. He showed me a plat map of the property and some pics they took before they did any work inside and out. He showed me the small ice house, an old shed that's falling down and a small concrete slab that he claims use to be a one room school house. He also pointed out that the property line is surrounded by some huge maples, (I think the school house is an old sugar shack). He seemed very interested in old bottles and said him and a friend dug up some in two different pits. I didn't even see where they scratched the surface. He also pointed out an owner of a local resturant collects and owns a lot of old bottles. He didn't seem a bit interested in small coin caches at all, just bottles. So I'll be spending a good deal of time probing and digging up little glass treasures for him. I did notice that there are several spots that I want to run my detecor around. A big boulder next to an apple tree about 30 feet from the house and some big maples in the front yard. Also some upstairs windows that overlooked a section of stone wall before the garage was put in. One thing I noticed about the bottle dump is alot of big rusty cans. Is that good or bad? The stone wall has fallen down in the front yard, but the side yard walls stand 1 and a half to 2 feet high. I asked if it'd be alright if I stopped up friday and took some pics of the property. He said yes and to stop by anytime and (I thought this was a little weird) he said don't bother knockin' next time if you don't want to. Just come on in. Very friendly man but knows very little of the local history as he's lived several different places in several different states. I'll post some pics of the property later. Jason
