Cool Sweet Irony

While I was out driving around after work yesterday looking for good hunting spots, my 15 year old daughter gave a guy permission to MD in my yard...............

Man, I hope he didn't find anything I missed...........

There is a philosophical question here. We all want to be granted permission to hunt a promising spot, but could we give it if the spot was ours?

Default Did he fill all his holes?

LMAO.... it would stink if he walked away with gold and diamonds...

i will gladly give permission to hunt my yard with certain provisions.

All metal only

you must dig every repeatable signal.

if you do dig... you cant stop till that item is out of the ground and in your pouch, and you must back fill all holes.

my yard use to be a salvage yard at one time. the man that run it would bury cracked engine blocks and all kinds of stuff to keep from hauling them off.

i have found engine blocks, an exhaust manifold, hub caps, rims, and thousand of bolts and lug nuts. AN MDrs PURGATORY.

so yell alll diggers welcome

I can see my daughter doing the same thing. In their minds they are probably thinking "Hey if I let this guy md in the yard my dad will stay home with me more" Kids will be kids. Mine would be thinking " If I let them dig in my yard mom will go somewhere else. She won't be on my back about chores"

Yea, you never know what a kid is going to do next......I found it fairly amusing.

Yes, he filled in all of his holes. I look at it this way, if the wife complains about dead spots on the lawn next spring I can always say "It was that guy" and then tell her to talk to her daughter....

It is a very good point to think about when we are going to the owner for permission. Cool story.

Default While the Cats Away......

Now That Is Ironic and Just Way to Funny. At the least your daughter should have gotten his adress so he could return the favor. Best case scenerio, He has alot of acreage with prime hunting ground. Worst case scenerio ( My Luck ) he would live in an Apartment with only an Asphalt parking lot behind the building.

I would...AFTER I was confident that I'd hunted it sufficiently first!

I'd look at his MD first If the guy owned something that looked like it was well loved (case in point, Mr. Silver's machine) I would say, "NO WAY! Go hunt your own yard, Mr. Professional metal detectorist."

In all reality, I would probably let the guy hunt as long as I could tag along and learn. Especially if he were like Boobie or Mr. Silver or Pappy. Tell 'em about TQ and all that.

He actually sounds like a good guy if he asked permission and filled his holes. That's pretty funny.
