Default Tactics

lol, I havent even got a detector yet.
Any of you guys use certain tactics, maybe even double up with a buddy?? For example, you got to a site and hit an area with a larger coil and go back with a smaller one in that same area???
I just read Little Diggers post "Never Hunted Out" and the size of area actually being covered beneath the surface. I also seen boobieinPa's response where he mentioned the Big Foot Coil.
So Ive been thinkin (thats usually my first mistake), if you covered a certain area (not real large, but a defined area at a site your working) using a coil like the one boobieinPa mentioned then go back over it with a smaller coil. Is this a dumb idea? and if you did approach it like this what about the junk in the ground and its effect on the larger coil?
Or another scenerio I thought of was have you or your buddy start out with the big coil and one or the other bring up the rear.
You guys ever do anything like this??
I gotta order me a detector, lol. But Im still reading and learning,Ive learned so much already. But I still lean to the Vaquero.
Thanks
John

I have a big field to do soon that held a circus/fairground in the 30's and I am not sure exactly where things were. The strategy I am going to start off with is to cross the field in an x fashion until I find something and after a few of these I should be able to narrow it down and/or go to smaller coil.
