Default Detector questions

Im posting here because I am hoping everyone with the different detectors, personal thoughts and experience may be able to help me.
As I have been reviewing different forums and detector reviews how do you know what is a real unbiased opinion of a detector.
I have become interested in the Tesoros, namely the Vanquero but have also been comparing the Cibola and Tejon. I dont think I want a machine with TID,just yet.
I have read opinions like the Vaquero is just as deep as the Tejon or the Cibola is just as deep as the Vanquero, and I know the Cibola is a factory set gb machine. Ive read that the Tejon and Vanquero are terrible in high minerlized soil and then someone else will post stating those people that dont get depth in highly minerlized soil is because they dont know how to ground balance. And then there are those that say the ground balancing on the Tejon and Vaquero is difficult and others say no.
Also Ive read that the three machines are fast sweepers and then Ive read they are slow sweepers.
I am sure there are some bashers making post on machines they dislike for whatever reasons just as well as people with biased post because they favor a particular brand or machine.
Do any of you find this to be true??? What is a noob to do,lol.
You know, you can actually see through some of it but some you cant.
I think some of the people are actually excited with their new toy, I bet 3,6 mos down the road they get another toy think its the best, lol.
Thanks
John

Gator, I found my detector by doing the Google thing. I can tell you this though, a couple of people in the club I belong to have them and they absolutely love them. Good luck.

Default Hey Gator

I believe it's true that some folks will bash a detector or manuf. for whatever reasons. Some ARE loyal to certain ones and knock anything else but then some ARE Loyal to certain ones and just give an honest opinion. Sometimes IT IS hard to tell who's blowing smoke and who's not. I've used Whites and think they are Great detectors. I have a Whites Surfmaster PI., A Wilson Coin Select, A Vaquero, & Tejon. ILove my Surfmaster but will upgrade shortly and It will be a Whites. My Wilson Coin Select is an Awesome Coinshooter But I may Sell that Shortly as I'm leaning more towards Beach & Water Hunting. Now The Vaquero I Will Probably NEVER Part With. Grond Balancing Is A Breeze, If you can't grasp it from the manual, Just go to the Tesoro forum here, Subforum " Vaquero" and I And Chuck have a Post there That will explain it, It really is Easy & fast. I don't know if you checked out Metal Detectors News & Reviews.Net but I agrree with ALL the post there. I just got my Tejon, have not been able to get out but just a little, the Ground balance ( To Me ) is as easy as the Vaquero. It is a Little bit of a different creature but thats what it is suppose to be. PROPER Ground Balancing IS THE KEY for your Detector to give you it's Best. I'm sure your right that some folks will have a detector for a little while and see something new come out and they just have to have it never giving what they have a real chance to prove or disprove itself. I would say alot of folks try different machines as they go along, myself included but as for me personally I am trying to fine tune my little arsenal to my own specific needs. Everyone is different, will have different reasons for what they do and express different Opinions for whatever reasons. My personal Opinion is that you will Love the Vaquero if you get it & Probably keep it even if you decide to Upgrade to another machine or something with Pre-Set GB. & TID. Sorry this is long but I hope it Helps.

The TINMAN
