Default Busybody....

Sorry, but I won't cut any slack at all for people like that woman! My latest was an older woman walking on the bike trail in a local park I was hunting. Our club is affiliated/sponsored by our local Park and Rec dept....we worked hard to get that good standing and can hunt any park in town.

She motioned me over and I took off my headphones and asked if I could be of help. She said she didn't think I should be doing that because I was knocking the seeds off the dandelions and would cause more to grow. I looked back at the field and then back to her and said...
"Gee....do the kids that play soccer here know that? (it was a makeshift soccer field) I'll bet they kick the heads off lots of dandelions when they run and play! Then I put my headphones on and went back to hunting.

Nope!...no way will I be accommodating to people like that. I won't be rude or hostile, but I don't mind throwing back a little veiled sarcasm.

Default Look at it in Percentages...

....when you measure all of the good times against the one or two times some jerk gives you grief...really doesn't amount to much, does it? They're simply not worth giving yourself a headache over...HH all!

What would you do? I've escorted what I knew was a totally innocent guy out to his car because he was stand on the sidewalk by the buses and forgot to stow his carpet cutter. He was creeping the kids out. We can't take any kind of chances around the kids. What would happen if some guy we saw with a detector pulled what that guy did in Colorado? They'd crucify us if they found out we knew about him ahead of time, not to mention our own consciences. It may not sop people from doing it, but at least you can check them out, if you're a halfway decent administrator. It's a five minute phone call to the principal or superintendent, to do something you love.
I don't mean to sound like a jerk.

Oh you do not sound like a jerk at all to me. My wife and son raised the same point to me. I will be honest I really thought that I was far enough away from anyone for it to matter.

I have thought about this since last night. I reckon my new policy will be to only go to schools on weekends. I had thought 17:30 was late enough.

As the father of 2 boys I do see this point now. In todays world we have to many wierd people, Beale.

In my opinion, if she was really concerned that you were some sort of danger, she wouldn't have approached you. Nope! She was just being nosey and trying to bully you around with whatever imaginary power she feels that she has.

I would bet that the principal has had to deal with her on more than one occasion... We have a lady in our apartment complex who is always asking people if they live there and making up rules that don't even exist.

She must be lonely.

Maybe she's detecting the site herself. Maybe Guido needs to pay her a visit!

Hats off to you for keeping your cool. The schools I hunt here are mostly fenced. I found that by talking to the principal before attempting to search has saved me tons of confrontations. One school district here has security guards that actually patrol. I offered to let him and the principal photo copy my ID. They both told me that wouldn't be necessary, and gave me permission to search any time after school hours. The guard even gave me his phone number "Just in case I got stopped by the Police". to verify that I had received permission to be on the property.

And if you think about it, if it weren't for the rude busy-bodies, we wouldn't have had some giggles and a few I remember when it happened to me's!

And in closing, From my experiences she probably copied your tag wrong, and would've called PD with a description of a male with dark hair, average build, average height, and couldn't remember what you were wearing.

Ya Gotta Love em!
