With the ground frozen and my metal detecting on hold I still find old nickles and silver on occasion playing the work place slot machines. First I get a few rolls of quarters, dimes and nickles. I check the rolls for good finds and sometimes find a little silver this way. Then I take the remander to work (mark your first coin with a marker) and load up the machine and hit the return. Keep going until you get your first marked coin again. I find that the older the machine better your chances for a good find. Some of the new machines will actually reject silver coins. Good luck and if this works for you let me know. I can't play anymore for silver because all the machines at my work are new ones. So I keep looking for old nickles mostly from the 40's and 50's. Its not much but its fun to do. Try not to let anyone know what your doing because some machines don't have a continuing type system and all your coins go into a box to be collected and a seperate area holds the change that you get in return. So when you dump in twenty dollars worth of change (it takes quite awhile to do that)and you aren't getting anymore coin back then you know its spent. So go to the next machine or go back to work.
