Default Nice day out!

Heres my buddy John, hunting near the spring, if you'll notice he's all Smiles

The other picture is of an old log cabin cellar hole. We almost need to remove the stone to detect it, this is also where I contracted poison ivy the last outing

Poison ivy will be harder to get if you detect at midday or before it starts to cool down at night. In the early morning hours the leaves give off a slight oil (as do most plants).During the heat of the day that oil gets burned off. Ever notice how much more fragrant flowers are early in the morning? That's the oils on the plant starting to burn off. Also wash the clothes you wear seperate from other clothes because poison ivy can reinfect you up to a year later. Poison ivy doesn't really bother me though so I go right through it as well as briars and thickets. Never got use to thorn trees though. hope this helps. Jason

Does indeed look like an interesting area to detect.

Greg, I know your pain. Had two bouts of poison ivy this past summer. One was so bad, a 5 x 3 inch section of my lower arm looked like it was doused with acid. Took $40.00 worth of "Ivy Dry" and two tubes of anti-itch ointment to keep that sucker under control!

Its hard for me to see it in the winter for they have no leaves.

Went detecting with Scott a few years back and he got it on his face, seen him a few days later at our family reunion and he looked like the Elephant man but still smiling

Poison Ivy don't seem to bother me much. But let me even get close to poison Oak, or Sumac and I swell up like a blow fish. That stuff is really mierable to deal with. BTW, looks like a great spot to go MDing.
