Default Frozen ground=winter blues

What do you all do in the bad months ( for all in the frigid zone)? Certainly you cant dig in frozen ground.Do you turn to other hobby,s? or do you take a huge blow dryer out in the field to thaw out the ground?

Most people will do their research, if their ground is frozen. Some take little trips to warm areas. Others come to TQ and talk about how they want to hunt but can't because the ground is frozen.

I always liked to take rides in the winter months when there's no snow on the ground. The leaves and ground vegatation are gone, and locating old homesteads and cellar holes is easy. And its also a good time to get permission from land owners to hunt in the spring. Good time to clean coins too.

We went out hunting in the cold months in Deleware. Had to pick at the dirt but found a few. We worked outside on the flightline in all weather so it was no big deal. I'm not talking about 0 degrees or anything like that. We were not that willing. We also did research about what spots to hunt.... Buster

the colder months are nice in that the plants are gone, wile most insulators are in the air some are in the ground so i suppose i would just continue diggin through the cold months. I have most of my digging on hold till then actually.

This will actually be my first winter since seriously MD'ing...I plan to keep hunting as long as I can see bare ground - of course, here in Colorado, the weather can change in 5 minutes!
