Default Rain. How does it affect dectecting

I revisited an area that I have swept in the past. This time it rained the night before.I found some coins that I missed 1st time around. Is this a coincidence,or do our detectors work better after a rain?

Sound travels faster through a liquid medium,, ie ( water ), and detectors transmitting high frequency sound waves into a wet or moist ground, equals better detection response to a metallic object.

Thats why everybody enjoys detecting after a rain when the ground is soaked. Better target response and easier digging....

What everyone else said. I detected one of those "hunted out" sites after a rain storm and pulled a nice Walking Half which I am sure was passed over.

Just like they say don't turn on light switches when your hands are wet or stand in water when working with electricity, water's a good conductor!
