Default Silver v Copper

Hi,

What would you say was the ratio between finding copper and silver coins?

Kind Regards,

Colin

For me, granted I'm in a community that didn't exist until the mid 1940's and therefore not much in the way of silver coins to start with...

Pennies to date: 1246
Silver coins to date: 13

So, darn near 1000:1, or a fair cry better than 1M:1...LOL

I find clad about 80 per cent of the time and copper about 19 per cent and silver about 1 per cent.

Well it took me over a month of steady digging to hit my 1st and only silver so far. I can get clad any time, and hunt for it sometimes.

I really like seeing the older stuff come out of the ground. It is scarce though, Beale.

Right now, I'd say my odds for hitting the lottery or getting struck by lightning are better than hitting silver! ...coins that is...I've found silver jewelry...but would sure like to get out of Guido's non-silver club!

Hi,

What is clad? Is it the non-silver coinage? A ratio of 1000-1 to find a silver coin, is some ratio? Were they that valuable?

Kind Regards,

Colin
