I found a dead mouse the other day. Needless to say, I did not put it in my pouch.

Come across alot of dead fish, etc. in Galveston.

Did bring home a skull from my sister's property several weeks back. I think a deer skull. It isn't very big.
Now it's hanging on the wall.

I'm not going to hang any of the dead fish on the wall. Yuck!

Although I do find some nice shells. And a stingray barb. That was a neat find.

I wouldn't advertise having the loggerhead skull. Possession of it is a federal offense with hefty fines.

t
There shells and skulls are in resturants all over. Thanks Kent

P.S. This is not the endangered loggerhead sea turtle but the freshwater Alligator snapping turtle. Locals call it Loggerhead.
I caught this one 15 years ago injured by a boat prop.

I find all kinds of dead Critters. Cows, horses, and the what not!

The weirdest was 2 ft tall pile of rat and mouse skulls and bones. It was in a old out building on a derelict ranch. A great horned owl roosted above it.

We be gettin' a little morbid here on the forum. My only comment is that where there is/was life, there will be death. Sad, but true.......

Default dead stuff

up in ash canyon here there is a spot i want to dig out and run the gravels through my sluice but the stink of something dead billows out from the exact spot. when i was looking at the spot i thought man what a good spot for gold to be, as it had already been worked, i could tell. but that stink!! oh baby something is down in there rotting away. i'm thinking that maybe someone struck gold there and stuck a dead rabbit or something down the hole to keep others out. they'll have to do better than that to scare me outtah there!! in another place just down the canyon there is a dead cow carcass about 15 feet from another decent looking spot. looks like a mountain lion kill but not sure...

Around here there are a lot of dead deer carcasses, particularly in the spring after the snow melts. There are a lot of wolf kills, road kills and such. I like to take my dog with me when I go MDing. Lots of times he comes to where I am and will lay down with a bone or a piece of hide or something that he found in the woods. I guess he has his own "treasures" to find. The only bad part is that sometimes his treasures end up in another form of treasure for me on the floor of the truck or some where.
