Default How often are you skunked in the hunt?

So I hunted today for 2 hours and almost came home empty handed. I found 1 cent, and it was not an oldie at that. Now do not get me wrong I love to hunt, and had a great time. I was just wondering though.

How often do you come home empty handed? Does it matter to you? Or are you out for the hunt alone? Thanks in advance, Beale.

Got permission to hunt a very old store.we were so excited could not sleep the night before. We have headed out with visions of old coins and relics and came home with 1 antique bottle and a wheat penny. Like you said we had a good time but was quite dissapointed with the outcome.

Happens more often then you know. I sometimes get so frustrated I think ....that's it have to take a break from MDing. It usually doesn't last long, have to get right back out there and try again,it eventually pays off!

At least 50% of the time, probably more like 60%. I am having a run right now of 6 hunts with nothing to show for it.

Several times, twice at a beach of all places. Not one single coin nor anything. Once not even a pull tab. WTF! I do bring a ZLincoln with me and if I get skunked I sacrifice it to the MD gods (toss/bury it in the area of said skunking).

Sometimes you find a lot of stuff, sometimes not. It's still good to get out and hunt. I find a few here and there, but I would like to do better, but my time will come. Buster.....

The first few times I used my machine after buying it - I got skunked...mainly (I believe) because I wasn't using it properly. Now, fortunately, I live in an area that produces a lot of clad - since moving to Colorado last November, I've never been completely skunked...hope I haven't jinxed myself for saying that!

I seem to always find something , but then i never use the discrimination settings.
i hunt in all metal and dig, dig, dig, dig.
I took the pennies in that i got last summer and this summer to the bank. i cleaned them in a rock tumbler and bagged them up, there was a total of 45.6 pounds for a grand total of $79.98.... i saved out all the Indians and Wheaties to sell later, their total in pounds is 14.4.....
my advice is : save the pennies they do add up and you will never be skunked..
