Default finds from around union positions....

1861. the piece of CSA Parrot shell came from the front of a union foxhole. they laid pieces of flat stones in front of some of them. it was in between the stones about 5 inches deep.

the iron stuff is from the same area but about 150 yards up the hill. it was on a flat spot behind a larger trench/foxhole?

union foxhole, soil has washed away and exposed one of the flat stones. i wonder if that soil has filled in on top of anything nice?

Could be, I'd start digging, be careful, could be bottles there.

Man, I can't wait to search a CW site

Not sure, but I would dig there very carefully, dig it about 2 more feet down and sift the dirt.

Good luck,
